Growing up in South Florida only 30 minutes away from a port you would think I would have gone on several cruises throughtout my life, but that was not the case. So when my sister Angie invited me to join her for a three day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas to celebrate her 40th birthday, I was elated.

We set sail on a cloudy Friday afternoon 🙁 but the first Bahama Mama made it all better. I chose to accompany my super comfortable BCBG black and white striped maxi dress with a Captain hat found on Amazon.com. It was quite the conversation starter and caused a few eye rolls from the actual cruise captain and mates.

After a rocky and rainy night at sea, we had the chance to see some sunlight and explore the beautiful island of Nassau, Bahamas.

My vintage rocker tee and cut off shorts paired with my comfortable gold Cole Hann oxfords were perfect for our day of exploration.

The climax of our exploration was discovering a sailor on the side of the port selling fresh conch salad. That was the best conch salad I have ever had and being able to watch him crack the conch shell open in front of me and make the dish from scratch was the icing on the cake. I took advantage of the wait time by getting a couple of great shots of the beautiful shells he was selling and chose one to bring back with me as a souvenir.

The last day of the cruise was spent relaxing on the Adult Deck catching some rays in my American Apparel high waisted swim suit and Victoria Secret strappy bikini top.
