“I’m out that H-town

Coming, coming down

I’m coming down dripping candy on the ground” – Beyoncé

As a faithful beehive member, I always felt a strong connection to the city of Houston as the birthplace of the Queen Bey herself. But I had never actually visited the city. On the way back from a business trip to Galveston, Texas the opportunity to explore the wonderful city of Houston finally presented itself. One of my best girlfriends happens to also be a Houston native and was nothing short of the perfect hostess.

The first stop of my exploration was Torchy’s Tacos. As a taco connoisseur, I must say Torchy’s is amongst the best. This Austin based food truck turned Texas franchise offers some of the best Mexican corn. When ordering your tacos, make sure you request them “extra trashy,” also known as the best cheesy goodness oozing all over your taco of choice.

Once we got some fuel in our system, the next stop stimulated my fashion juices and tempted my bank account to leave it all on the table. Appropriately named Beehive, this boho/retro chic boutique has so much to offer. If you are looking for unique pieces to give your wardrobe some pizazz, Beehive is the place to go.

I found Houston’s night life to be pleasantly diverse and lively. There are options available to satisfy any vibe you may have in mind. We opted for the downtown bar The Commoner, great atmosphere, inexpensive drinks, with all your favorite top 40 and hip-hop tunes.

I chose to hit the town in a sleek navy satin slip dress adorned with a leather jacket. My knit booties and black stockings added a more conservative touch to the sexy slip dress. Sexy classy is always my go to.

After taking advantage of all the pre-Black Friday deals throughout the infamous Galleria Mall, we rewarded  our shopping success with the best popsicles in town. Steel City Pops gourmet popsicles feature delicious refreshing treats with plenty of options for customization . My popsicle of choice was the buttercream drizzled with pistachios and caramel. SOOOO YUMMY!

My favorite restaurant of my exploration was Cru Wine Bar. This wine dive was filled with vibes of class and sophistication. We enjoyed a delicious charcuterie plate and cheese fondue while partaking in a white wine flight. Everything was wonderful. If you love wine and good food, you will love Cru.
