A Gala and a Gown

Unfortunately, it appears my invitation to the Academy Awards got lost in the mail. lol   But, I did have the honor of experiencing my own glam day as I prepared to attend Morehouse College’s A Candle in the Dark Gala in celebration of their sesquicentennial anniversary. As a Spelman College Alumna, it brings great joy to my heart to support my Morehouse brothers.  Celebrities, dignitaries, and some of Atlanta’s most affluent socialites filled the audience. Excellence, confidence, and success best describes the aura that radiated throughout the ballroom. The annual event is held so appropriately in the black history month of February and each honoree of the evening has played and continues to play a role in our history as trailblazers. Tyler Perry, Usher Ramond, and Jon Platt were a few of the power players honored.

Sleek and elegant was the vision in mind when putting my look together. My navy blue mermaid gown accented with crystal drop earrings, matching crystal bracelet, black pointy-toe sling backs, and a slicked back classic ponytail brought my vision life.
